GSD&M has formed a new publishing arm, Idea University Press, whose initial title is: This Book Is for All Kids, but Especially My Sister Libby. Libby Died.

The 32-page hardcover book is the creation of GSD&M employee Annette Simon, who wrote down her son Jack’s questions after his 3-year-old sister, Libby, died.

“We have always supported the special projects employees want to pursue,” said a statement accompanying the release of the book. “When Simon came to us with a great idea for a book, it seemed like a good way to kick-start our publishing arm.”

The book involved graphic design supplied by the staff of the Austin, Texas, agency, which also created a set of accompanying notecards.

A spokesperson said the agency plans to release one or two titles per year as joint ventures with employees and clients.
