Following Grey’s October launch of radio spots touting Rubio’s Baja Grill’s new name, Rubio’s Fresh Mexican Grill, the agency is resigning the account, the client confirmed.

The Los Angeles shop has handled the $2 million account for a year and will continue to work with the restaurant chain through February.

“Economically speaking, we just were not the right match for them,” said Grey L.A. president and COO John Crosson. “We hope to be able to help them find the right resource.”

Christy Geiling, director of marketing for Rubio’s in Carlsbad, Calif.,
