ATLANTA Grey Global Atlanta has been hired to create advertising and Fletcher Martin Ewing has been selected to provide public relations support for the Georgia Aquarium being built here, both agencies said.

There was no formal review for the account, and annual billings were undisclosed. Both agencies are located in Atlanta.

The Georgia Aquarium is being built with a $200 million donation from Bernie Marcus, co-founder of The Home Depot. The 430,000-square-foot facility in downtown Atlanta will house more than 55,000 animals from over 500 species in some 5 million gallons of salt and fresh water tanks. City officials bill it as the largest aquarium in the nation and one of the largest in the world. It is scheduled to open in November 2005.

Grey released the logo it designed for the aquarium this week and launched a Web site for the facility, www.georgiaaquarium.org. Other work will not be released until after the first of the year.

The attraction expects more than 2 million visitors in the first year.
