New York Parent Ends Florida Operations
DALLAS–Greenstone Roberts Advertising in Melville, N.Y., has shuttered its unprofitable Orlando, Fla., office and laid off 16 employees, according to the shop.
Greenstone Roberts closed the Orlando site and also pulled out of a public relations affiliation in Miami this month in order to “concentrate all our efforts on our core business in Melville,” said chairman and chief executive officer Ronald Greenstone in a statement.
“For some time, our Florida office has been unprofitable and has been a financial drain on our overall operations,” Greenstone said in the statement.
In addition to the Orlando advertising office, Greenstone Roberts held a minority share in public relations company Gothard/Greenstone Roberts in Miami, according to agency representative Lloyd Singer.
