Boston—Abe Gorelick has joined Direct Results Group/SourceLink as senior vp, chief client officer, a newly created position.
Most recently, Gorelick served as senior vp of marketing at recently defunct startup MutualFunds.com. Last fall, when the online mutual funds site failed to get more funding from inves tors, Gorelick turned to freelancing until he joined DRG.
In his new role at DRG, Gorelick oversees the account services department and the account planning group. In addition to supervising a team of nine employees, he will work on a variety of accounts, including Baltimore Technology, SpeechWorks and Forrester Research.
"Our capabilities run the breadth, from analysis and strategy to the production process, be cause of the resources we have," he said.
Gorelick began his marketing career more than 20 years ago in New York, where he worked at Kirshenbaum, Bond & Partners, Della Femina McNamee and Ted Bates. After moving to the Boston market a decade ago, Gorelick worked for several agencies, including Parrish Wickersham & Partners, Boston, and Epsilon, in Burlington, Mass.
Two years ago, Bos ton's DRG paired with Chicago-based Source Link, a national marketing company that has 12 locations in North America and 1,200 employees. DRG drives the marketing strategy and creative chores for the Boston market.
