NEW YORK BBDO Worldwide executive Alexander “Sandy” William Goebel, 62, died Saturday, Feb. 28, from complications from non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

Goebel was born in New York City and grew up in Chappaqua, N.Y., and Lausanne, Switzerland. As an adult, he lived in New York and Amagansett, N.Y. He graduated from the Lycee Jacquard in Lausanne and received his graduate degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.

A senior advertising executive with more than 40 years of experience at various New York agencies, Goebel was most recently a senior vice president and account director for Pepsi and FedEx, working with global BBDO offices on both.
