When most agencies talk about head count, it usually refers just to new hires.
St. Louis-based Core, however, recently took the unusual step of announcing that not only has it tripled its number of female staffers, it also has “tripled the capacity of its women’s restroom facilities by adding two (2) additional bowls!”
That, the 3-year-old agency crowed, gives it a 1-1 female employee to toilet bowl ratio, “a figure previously unimaginable in the advertising industry.”
The agency noted that its 12 male employees must share four toilets.
Why the unusual sense of achievement? Keeping the giddy spirit of the event alive, agency partner Marc Kempter explained, “We’ve always wanted to build an agency, and restrooms for that matter, that ‘look like America.’
