DETROIT – In the wake of last week’s Frontline program on the Public Broadcasting System, titled ‘Heartbeat of America,’ a show reporting on the last two tumultuous years at General Motors, the automaker said it is ‘re-evaluating’ its commitment to PBS. Said vp Bruce MacDonald about the show, ‘This was yellow journalism.’ MacDonald added, ‘We will be re-evaluating our corporate involvement and financial underwriting of Public Broadcasting System shows, if programs such as Frontline reflect a value shift on the part of PBS.’
