Gleason Calise Associates here has named two officials, including executive creative director Don Sedei, as principals of the shop.
Sedei, along with chief financial officer Larry Booth, join chief executive officer Charlie Calise and president Matt Gleason in ownership of the $60 million agency. Calise and Gleason remain majority owners.
Sedei and Booth are the only employees besides former executive vice president Eileen Weinert to ever be offered equity in the 12-year-old agency, according to Calise. Weinert is now president and part owner of GCA spinoff MediaWise.
"Don was a great fit with our agency when he came here," in late 1996, said Calise. "He had a great vision as to where to take the company, so making him a principal shows the . . . impact creatively he will have in the future."
Booth also arrived in 1996. He previously served with Big Six accounting firm Arthur Andersen.
GCA recruited Sedei from Temerlin McClain in Irving, Texas. Sedei and Calise worked together at The Bloom Agency here in the 1980s.
Sedei's two-year term at Temerlin involved new business pitches and creative services on accounts including American Airlines and JC Penney. At GCA, Calise said, Sedei's new business assists have helped land accounts like Arlington, Texas-based Doskocil Manufacturing and Blazer Financial Services of Tampa, Fla.
Sedei also worked at N.W. Ayer's former Dallas office and BBDO South in Atlanta.
