What kind of shelf life do professional athletes have in supermarkets? Atlanta Braves pitcher Tom Glavine and Buffalo Bills quarterback Doug Flutie will soon find out.
Glavine Marinara all-natural pasta sauce and Flutie Flakes cereal are due to hit supermarkets this fall.
Woolf Associates here brokered separate deals for the athletes with PublicLabel Brands, a food maker in Pittsburgh. While financial terms were not disclosed, PublicLabel president Ty Ballou said the players receive royalty payments on each item sold.
Aimed at raising the athletes’ profiles while contributing a portion of the profits to charity, the deals may also help Woolf ink other endorsements for Flutie and Glavine.
