Gillette Adds Rembrandt to Its Portfolio

NEW YORK Gillette said on Tuesday that it will acquire the Rembrandt brand of at-home and professional teeth-whitening products from privately held Den-Mat Corp.

The transaction, expected to be completed in the second quarter, is subject to regulatory and other closing conditions. Financial terms were not disclosed.

The Rembrandt product line joins the Oral-B line in Boston-based Gillette’s mouth-care portfolio. Den-Mat was founded in 1974 by Dr. Robert Ibsen, a practicing dentist. Rembrandt had sales of $73 million last year, per the Santa Monica, Calif.,
