French/West/Vaughan Acquires Mid-Eye

ATLANTA French/West/Vaughan said that it has acquired Mid-Eye Marketing and named David Middleton chief marketing officer.

Middleton, former founder and president of the Raleigh, N.C., public relations and marketing agency, will be responsible for new business development and community relations at crosstown FWV. Financial details of the acquisition are undisclosed.

Rick French, president and chief executive officer of FWV, said he has known Middleton for years and has served with him on numerous executive boards. When French learned that Middleton was opening his own firm earlier this year, he thought he would like to have him on board in a new business capacity.

"Dave has relationships with senior-level business leaders and he can help open some doors," French said.

French also said that the agency would open an office in New York. Lauren Taylor, senior vice president of agency operations, will head the location. It is scheduled to open in December, French said.

Richard French & Associates merged with West & Vaughan in 2002, and the shop has since acquired six small to midsize companies, French said. He added that FWV might team with New York agencies in the future.

"Since opening FWV, and having made major acquisitions, our business is stronger than it has ever been," said French.
