Carat Freeman last week landed the media buying portion of NEC Computer Systems’ estimated $30 million account and announced plans to open its first office outside Massachusetts.
The high-technology media buying and planning agency in Newton, Mass., won the assignment without a review, according to client representative D.J. Anderson.
Media duties had been handled by Hampel Stefanides in New York, which will continue to serve as NEC’s creative agency, Anderson said.
The switch to Freeman was made by Nick Hofer, who in March was promoted to vice president of marketing from a previous post in advertising.
