Freeman Gets Assignment for 'Chicago's Beer'

NEW YORK Pabst Brewing Co. has given a creative project for its Old Style beer to Cliff Freeman and Partners, sources said.

The work was assigned without a review, but the scope of the media has not yet been determined, sources said. Nielsen Monitor-Plus and TNS Media Intelligence/CMR show no spending for Old Style for the past several years.

Old Style is mostly known as "Chicago's beer," closely associated with Wrigley Field and the Cubs baseball team. The brand is sold primarily in the Midwest.

Pabst Brewing is located in San Antonio, but it pays SAB Miller to brew its beer brands such as Old Style, Old Milwaukee, Pabst Blue Ribbon, Lone Star, Pearl, Colt 45 and Schlitz.

Cliff Freeman executives referred calls to the client, which could not immediately be reached for comment.

It is the second acquisition this month for the New York independent agency, which two weeks ago won creative chores for TBS Superstation's "Non-Stop Comedy Block" of shows.
