BOSTON Fort Franklin has won an interactive assignment from nonprofit organization Next Step.
The Cambridge, Mass.-based client helps teens and young adults cope with cancer and blood diseases.
Fort Franklin is designing a Web site that will serve as an online resource where children, their parents and physicians can learn about treatment and support options and interact with one another. The site will include features such as message boards, chat rooms and games, according to Marc Gallucci, president of the Boston independent. "The main function of the Web site will be to promote a community," he said.
"[These] kids are the best resource for each other and isolation is a big problem," said Bill Kubicek, president of Next Step." [Fort Franklin] has a perspective and a sense of humor and an ability to think outside of the box that is really unique," said Kubicek. "They [also] have a really giving nature. They've been so available to us."
Fort Franklin's client roster also includes Sugarbush, Gadsby Hannah, Cider Jack and Kangol.
