DALLAS-The Atkins Agency has expanded its Hispanic marketing portfolio with the addition of regional assignments for Houston-based retailer Foley’s.
“This is further developing our in-house Hispanic marketing capabilities,” said Jaime Garza, the account supervisor in charge of Latino advertising efforts at the San Antonio agency.
Duties include broadcast, promotions, print and media, focused in Foley’s South Texas markets of Laredo, San Antonio, Houston and the Rio Grande Valley. Billings are estimated at less than $1 million.
The new client-agency relationship is one that was nearly six months in the making, said Garza, after Atkins learned Foley’s was seeking assistance for its in-house advertising department in building South Texas awareness and marketing new store openings.
“Obviously, by the demographics, the general market [in South Texas] is the Hispanic market,” said Garza, who has worked for San Antonio agencies Inventiva and Montemayor y Asociados, as well as Ornelas & Associates in Dallas.
