McClain Finlon’s chief creative officer, Tom Leydon, went home early last Thursday because he wasn’t feeling well. Normally that wouldn’t be news, even during a slow week. But Thursday was Free Pancake Day at the Denver shop, and Leydon was the “head chef.” Not long after cooking up batch after steaming, delicious batch of pancakes and dishing them out to arriving staffers, he mysteriously took ill and ducked out.

“It is not related,” insists creative coordinator and “sous chef” Jill Lentz.
