CHICAGO--Foote, Cone & Belding here has retained the $70 million Boeing account, besting finalists J. Walter Thompson and BBDO, the company confirmed.
Boeing began searching for a Chicago agency in July as it was preparing to move its corporate headquarters from Seattle to Chicago.
The three finalist agencies made final pitches to executives at the airline company, including chairman Phil Condit on Monday.
FCB in Seattle handled the account for more than a year and helped the Chicago office defend the account.
Leo Burnett and DDB Chicago were cut in an earlier round.
Boeing had said it will spend $72 million globally, about $40 million of which is for corporate ads, with the next highest, $16 million, behind commercial aircraft.
