NEW YORK Foote Cone & Belding said it has named Rodd Chant to the new position of executive creative director of its flagship office here.

Chant, who started at the Interpublic Group agency on Monday, joined from Publicis in Singapore, where he held the same title.

The 40-year-old Chant will focus on brand advertising at the shop, rounding out the senior creative team alongside Mach Arom (interactive, online) and Gary Scheiner (direct efforts).

He reports to FCB New York chairman and chief creative officer Chris Becker, who said in a statement: “It took me a long time to find a person with the right personality and maturity to lead the New York creative team.
