Fallon veteran Tricia Davidson has taken the new position of general manager at Duffy Design, the shop's subsidiary, taking over many tasks formerly handled by founder Joe Duffy.
"As Fallon is expanding globally, so is Duffy," Davidson said. "I'll be working with [Joe Duffy] to figure out where and with whom to partner." Duffy remains chairman of Duffy Design, and Davidson will report to him.
During 11 years at the Minneapolis agency, Davidson has worked on a number of accounts, including United Airlines, McDonald's, Coca-Cola and Lee Jeans. She was most recently global team leader for United, an account she will continue to spend time on. Her specific role on United will not immediately be filled. Davidson is also a member of the agency's global expansion committee.
Apart from overseeing Duffy's worldwide operations, Davidson will supervise the unit's financials, assist with new-business initiatives and build further integration between the unit and the agency. Davidson said her time at Fallon leaves her "uniquely positioned" to manage that integration.
"I'll be able to bring the Fallon perspective to Duffy and soon, the Duffy perspective to Fallon," she said.
Duffy Design's global expansion has made filling a top position at the design unit necessary, Davidson said.
Currently, Duffy Design has offices in Minneapolis, New York and London. It is set to open offices in Hong Kong and Singapore at the beginning of next year, through the acquisition of Design Asylum. The shop is also expected to open an outpost in São Paulo, Brazil.
