DALLAS TracyLocke has hired Lionel Knight for the new position of director of insights and strategy at its headquarters here, the agency said.
Knight was previously executive vice president, director of strategic planning at Publicis in Mid-America.
At the Publicis shop in Dallas, Knight created a planning group that contributed to client wins, according to TracyLocke. He worked with Publicis clients such as Abbott Labs, BMW, Denny's, Nestle, Principal Financial, Sara Lee, Zales and Curves, among others.

TracyLocke's Dallas office serves 7-Eleven, Pepsi Bottling Group, Frito-Lay, Harrah's, Palm Beach Tan, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell and other clients. The agency also has a headquarters in Wilton, Conn., whose largest client is Pepsi.
Knight called TracyLocke "an agency that searches for big ideas that can connect with the consumer at all points of contact, especially in-store, at home and through cross media channels."
Knight began his planning career in London at Fletcher Shelton Delaney, where over six years he worked on a series of packaged-goods brands. He then spent eight years at Burkitt Weinreich Bryant Clients & Co. before heading to Court Burkeitt & Co. as joint managing director and finally to Publicis in Mid-America in 1998.
