DALLAS Tom Cole, former executive vice president and global business director at JWT in Detroit, has joined Razor Competitive Edge as principal and co-president of the 2-year-old independent shop, the agency said.

RCE, based in the Dallas suburb of Addison, Texas, has $60 million in billings and clients that include Rent-A-Center and Domino's Pizza, an account Cole managed at JWT, the agency said.

David Kirwan, founder and co-president of RCE, also started the agency that became RSCG Euro Retail in Plano, Texas, formerly Brann Forbes. Cole is also a former president of Brann Forbes.

Cole, who joined JWT in 2003 after leaving Brann Forbes, started as a senior partner and was promoted within two years to the lead account position on Domino's, according to RCE.

Brann Forbes was the successor agency to Brann Worldwide and The Forbes Group.

Cole had earlier worked at Pizza Hut, holding senior posts in regional and field marketing, strategic planning, national planning and new product marketing. He also was a marketing director at Hardee's Food Systems.

In his new role, Cole will lead strategic planning and client value-added efforts at RCE, as well as the internal insight, financial, human resources and operations teams.
