CHICAGO Former BBDO Minneapolis CEO Bob Thacker will join the Guthrie Theater as external relations director, effective July 5.
In the post, Thacker will be responsible for the Minneapolis venue’s development, marketing, communications, and education and community partnerships.
Thacker was president and CEO of BBDO in Minneapolis from September 1999 until January of this year, when he retired from the shop after it lost its second-largest account—the $25 million business of Buffets Inc. At the time, Thacker said he would consult and possibly teach at the university level.
