ATLANTA Andy Mendelsohn has joined Erwin-Penland in the newly created position of executive creative director, the agency said.

Mendelsohn will supervise the Greenville, S.C., Interpublic Group shop’s 42-person creative department and join the agency’s senior management team as vice president. Mark Bazil, the shop’s creative director since 2000, will remain in his current role.

Previously, Mendelsohn was senior vice president and executive creative director at Henderson Advertising, an independent Greenville shop. Before moving to South Carolina in 2000, he was creative director at Warwick Advertising in New York on the Heineken, Amstel Light, Fruit of the Loom, Lexmark and Knorr accounts.
