Woody Kay has been named executive creative director at Earle Palmer Brown Advertising.

In the newly created position, Kay, 50, will oversee work at EPB’s Bethesda, Md., office, where clients include Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse of New Orleans and BlueCross BlueShield Federal Em-ployee Program and Pepco Energy Services, both in Washington, D.C.

Kay will report to chief creative officer Lance Mald at EPB’s New York headquarters. He succeeds former EPB partner and creative director Jim Hunn, who left the agency earlier this year.

“Woody’s appointment is part of our effort to strengthen EPB’s creative product and raise its profile,” said Jeb Brown, chief executive officer of EPB parent company Pano-ramic Communications.

Most recently, Kay was chairman and creative director of Pagano Schenck & Kay in Boston, which he co-founded in 1986.
