BOSTON EMC is mulling its public relations needs, after a series of company acquisitions, the client said.
"[We're] evaluating our current agency strategy," said Anne Pace, PR manager at the Hopkinton, Mass., client. "EMC over the last year has acquired [three] large software companies, all of which have very strong PR agency relationships. [We're] evaluating the existing agencies and looking for the best way to leverage our PR assets."
The EMC-acquired companies are Documentum, Legato, and VMware.
Omnicom Group's Porter Novelli is EMC's lead PR agency. The client has also met with other shops, according to Pace, though he declined to name them. Sources said the PR agencies of the acquired companies are likely involved.
The company's PR budget is estimated in the mid-six figures.
Ad chores for EMC are handled by Boston-based Interpublic Group agency Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos.
