CHICAGO Omnicom Group's Element 79 Partners has created four spots promoting Turner Network Television telecasts of Nascar races, the agency said.

The commercials tout the importance of the races airing on TNT, which lead to the Nascar Nextel Cup championship. The effort, the Chicago shop's first work for TNT, features several Nascar drivers, including Dale Earnhardt Jr., Matt Kenseth and Jeff Gordon.

The first spot broke during the July 4 weekend. Element 79 also has done spots for the Nascar sponsorship of hardware chain Lowe's.

"This assignment leverages our strengths as an agency, specifically with sports celebrities," said Dennis Ryan, Element 79's chief creative officer, in a statement.

TNT has telecast rights to six of the eight races that are key to the championship, starting with the July 25 event at Loudon, N.H. Terms of the agency's deal with TNT were not disclosed.
