Tops East, West Coast Incumbents for Account of Star Systems
DALLAS–Star Systems Inc., the largest automated teller machine network in the country, has awarded its estimated $5-10 million advertising account to Eisner Communications in Baltimore.
Two incumbent agencies on either coast were bested along with undisclosed shops that participated in a nationwide review. Arnold Communications in McLean, Va., was the agency of record for Honor Technologies Inc., which merged with Star Systems in March. Matthews/Mark in San Diego was the agency of record for Star Systems.
The ATM network will continue to employ the advertising material and media plan developed by Matthews/Mark until the end of this year.
Star Systems director of advertising Barbara Span said the agency review was driven largely by this year’s Honor Technologies-Star Systems merger.
“It was important for us to start with a clean slate and say, ‘Okay, now let’s develop a new identity,’ ” Span said.
