CHICAGO-Electronic Data Systems is expected to select Fallon McElligott for a global branding assignment, sources said.
The Minneapolis agency topped three contenders-incumbent Bates Worldwide and Grey Advertising, both located in New York, and DDB in Dallas-for the marketing project, which is projected to become a $50 million account.
Agency officials referred calls to the client. EDS officials could not be reached for comment at press time.
The Plano, Texas-based information systems company spent $4.2 million on advertising last year, according to Competitive Media Reporting.
The company, which has undergone major organizational changes in the past six months, recently established an e-commerce business consulting unit.
