NEW YORK Eight semifinalists are pursuing creative duties for The Albert Co.'s advertising account, sources said.
Based in Carmel, Calif., The Albert Co. negotiates with talent agents and music publishers on behalf of ad agencies to arrange celebrity appearances or secure song rights for campaigns.
Chemistry meetings with the client are scheduled for mid-May, with a cut to four finalists on May 21. Sources said East Coast shops, most of them in New York, are participating.
AAR Partners is the New York consultancy conducting the review [Adweek, Feb. 20].
The first-time campaign for this client will target ad agency professionals. A media budget has not yet been determined, according to sources.
Recent deals The Albert Co. has brokered include getting the Rolling Stones song "Start Me Up" for Ford Motor Company and the Beatles' "All Together Now" for Verizon Communications.
