NEW YORK Internet service provider Earthlink has tapped Horizon Media, New York, to handle direct response and general market media planning and buying accounts totaling an estimated $50 million, a representative for the media shop said.

Media responsibilities will be for Earthlink’s dial-up, broadband and MailStation products. Horizon has been handling Earthlink’s direct response buying since August 2001. StarLink, a unit of Publicis’ Starcom, had been Earthlink’s media planning and buying agency. Creative for the Atlanta-based online giant will remain with LB Works, a Leo Burnett Company.
