DuPont Narrows to Five

CHICAGO Five agencies will continue in DuPont's review for its consolidated $70 million advertising account.

The shops ? Foote, Cone & Belding in Chicago, McCann-Erickson, Ogilvy & Mather, Saatchi & Saatchi and Young & Rubicam, all New York ? will now compete in an online auction, and members of the Wilmington, Del., selection team will visit each agency. The review is expected to be completed in May.

Cut from the review were Fallon Minneapolis and Doner in Southfield, Mich. Two other contenders: BBDO, New York, and DDB, Chicago, dropped out prior to last week's creative presentations. DuPont called the review in February as an initiative to save costs.
