NEW YORK Dubai Lynx, the new industry award show honoring Middle Eastern and North African advertising, has named its first jury presidents.
Jonathan Harries, worldwide chief creative officer at DraftFCB here, will head the TV/Cinema, Print, Outdoor and Radio jury, and Fred Koblinger, CEO of PKP Proximity & BBDO Holding in Vienna, will lead the Interactive and Direct jury.
"Seeing work from an area that is emerging into one of the most thrilling times in advertising will be an amazing experience," said Harries.
Koblinger added, "It is fantastic to preside over a jury to judge both on and offline at the same time, in a region of dynamic growth."
"We are thrilled to have [them] as our first jury presidents," said Terry Savage, executive chairman of Dubai Lynx. "Their integrity, pursuit for creative excellence and past international judging and jury presidency experiences are qualities we want to bring to these new awards."
Harries chaired this year's Loerie Awards in South Africa. Koblinger has twice been a Cannes Lions juror and in 2005 was jury president of the Lions Direct competition. He will also head the first Direct jury at the Eurobest Awards in December.
The Cannes Lions Advertising Festival, in association with the United Arab Emirates chapter of the International Advertising Association, will present the inaugural Dubai Lynx awards show next year.
Judging will take place over four days, and the awards ceremony will be held at Dubai Media City on March 17, 2007.
