LOS ANGELES John Drake has been named partner and general manager of Four Stories.

Drake, 28, was most recently manager of business development at Deutsch/LA in Marina del Rey, Calif. He has been with the shop since 1997 and first met Four Stories president and creative director Austin Howe more than four years ago, when Howe was brought in to produce a radio campaign for one of Deutsch's clients at that time, Baskin-Robbins.

"He's one of those people who you just file away in your mind," said Drake. I thought, 'Someday, I'd like to be in business with this guy.'"

Last November, Howe launched Four Stories, a Portland, Ore., boutique that will limit its roster to four clients, and Drake said their conversations about working together became more serious.

"I love the business model," said Drake. "A lot of agencies that have a key point of differentiation are really successful, and Four Stories has something that is truly a point of differentiation."

Drake assumes his new position at the six-person shop on Feb. 24.

Four Stories currently has one client, Tillamook County Creamery Association. Its services include TV and print creative and public relations.
