NEW YORK Mark Dowley, chairman and chief executive of Interpublic Group's Sports & Entertainment Group, is talking to talent agency Endeavor about an undisclosed post in New York, sources said.
Dowley, a former vice chairman at McCann-Erickson WorldGroup who became head of the sports group last year, is still negotiating his exit from IPG, however, according to sources.
His IPG post is expected to be dissolved as the parent company moves to dismantle the group and realign its assignments among other agency divisions [Adweek, Sept. 8]. The move is part of IPG COO Chris Coughlin's effort to consolidate services and cut costs.
Dowley, who could not immediately be reached, may leave IPG as soon as next week, said sources. An IPG representative declined comment and a call to Endeaovor in New York was referred to the agency's main office in Beverly Hills, Calif., which could not immediately be reached.
