Doner Takes Heinz Pet-Food Business

DETROIT–Doner has won a review H.J. Heinz’s $10-15 million pet-food brands, sources said.

The Southfield, Mich., agency bested Element 79 in Chicago and Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis for the account, which includes the 9 Lives and Kibbles ‘n Bits brands.

Doner officials could not be reached for comment.

New York consultancy Roth Associates managed the search for the Pittsburgh-based Heinz. A client representative could not immediately be reached.

Doner has extensive experience in the pet category. The agency also handles Petsmart pet supply stores and formerly handled the Iams and Eukanuba dog- and cat-food brands.
