Having worked for the past two and a half years on Euro RSCG 4D's Intel account in Europe, Sean Howard said that he understands microprocessors.

Now, as global client services director for Microsoft at Wunderman, Howard said he's ready to get more experience on a broader array of products.

"Initially, the thing that excited me ... was simply the products," said Howard, a 35-year-old Idaho native. "It's fun stuff to be working with."

In the post, Howard will oversee about 50 staffers working in various U.S. offices. He reports to Jan Valentic and Stewart Pearson, both global client leaders on the WPP Group shop's Team Microsoft.

Pearson said there were three key reasons for bringing Howard on board. "We felt, first of all, that Sean is a natural team-builder," said Pearson, noting his international experience also filled "the global box."

"Secondly, he is a very strong service-oriented professional with good communicaton skills. Thirdly, he's 6 foot 7. We certainly need people who lean forward on the business," he said.

Howard was most recently a group account director overseeing online marketing for Intel at Euro RSCG 4D in London and Amsterdam. Prior to 4D, he served as general manager at independent Enlighten, a Los Angeles shop that specializes in Web development, where his clients included Disney and Sony.

Howard graduated from the University of Puget Sound in Tacoma, Wash., with a marketing degree and received an MBA from San Francisco State University. Howard describes himself as a communicator, saying he enjoys "watching people rise beyond a place even they thought they couldn't get to."

An avid traveler, Howard enjoys scuba diving and taking underwater pictures. But he's not looking for just any photo opportunity. One of his greatest ambitions is to do a Great White Shark cage dive within the next three years.
