NEW YORK Digitas said its second-quarter revenue and income were up sharply, thanks to increased online ad initiatives from key clients General Motors and American Express, expanding existing business and acquiring new accounts.

The Boston-based interactive agency group, which includes Modem Media, reported second-quarter fee revenue of $87.6 million, a 44 percent increase from the same period a year earlier. Net income was up 55 percent in the quarter to $11.9 million or 12 cents a share.
