BOSTON–Making its first big play in sports marketing, Digitas has been selected by the National Basketball Association to develop global marketing and sponsorship strategies across all of the client’s online properties.
Digitas, Boston, will craft initiatives supporting NBA.com, WNBA.com, which covers the women’s league, as well as various team sites. All told, the NBA maintains a network of 29 sites.
The budget was not disclosed.
The specific scope of the assignment was also not revealed, but the agency intends to help make game video, statistics, news and merchandise available to consumers in various media, including wireless, interactive and television, according to Digitas chief executive David Kenny.
