Diet Coke has tapped some A-list Hollywood stars in voiceovers for its new "That certain something" ad campaign.
The five "slice of life" commercials, breaking during the Barbara Walters pre-Oscar telecast Sunday night, will feature plugs from Ben Affleck, Ed Burns, Ashley Judd, Matthew McConaughey and Renee Zellweger. Two spots, featuring Burns and Judd, will air during the Walters' special. One spot, called "The Trip," has Burns talking about a potential disaster he and his girlfriend had running to his boss' party in the rain. His girlfriend fell in the mud and dropped a six-pack of Diet Coke. She ends up laughing hysterically and they never make it to the party.
All of the commercials focus on what makes one person appealing to another. Other spots from the campaign, created by Widen+Kennedy, Portland, Ore., will air during Access Hollywood, Ally McBeal, Boston Public and ER.
