NEW YORK The Directors Guild of America has named five nominees for its Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials Award for 2002.

Nominees are: Dante Ariola of Morton Jankel Zander in Los Angeles for TBWA\Chiat\Day’s “Signs” for Sony Playstation 2; Fallon’s “Cheese” for Buddy Lee; and Bozell’s “Butcher” for Bank of America.

Leslie Dektor of Dektor Film in Hollywood, Calif., was nominated for Ogilvy & Mather’s “Crazy Love” for American Express; Euro RSCG McConnaughy Tatham’s “Rent or Food” for America’s Second Harvests; and McGarry Bowen’s “Lady Liberty” for Verizon.
