NEW YORK Baker Smith of Harvest Films in Santa Monica, Calif., took home the Directors Guild of America’s award for Outstanding Directorial Achievement in Commercials for 2002 at the 55th annual DGA show on Saturday.

Smith was nominated for work including “Black Bands” and “Visigoths” for Canal by Euro RSCG BETC in Paris, “Lightning” and “Wind” for Fox Sports by Cliff Freeman and Partners in New York and “Clown” for BMW’s Mini Cooper by Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Miami.
