Deutsch has hired two seasoned Southern California ad executives to take the helm of its West Coast office as part of the shop's continuing effort to establish itself here.
Michael Sheldon and Eric Hirsh-berg will head the Santa Monica, Calif., office, effective Oct. 6, agency chief executive officer Donny Deutsch said. Both currently are senior executives at Fattal & Collins in Marina del Rey, Calif.
Sheldon, 37, and Hirshberg, 29, were signed as executive vice president/general manager and executive creative director, respectively.
"We selected Mike and Eric after a very extensive search," Deutsch said. "We were looking for the best account and strategic minds around. These guys showed me that they have vision, energy and a track record."
Deutsch, whose agency is based in New York, explained that the addition of two executives is part of the company's overall commitment to further establish itself on the West Coast. "We're investing in the future and we're here for the long haul," he said.
The Santa Monica office has aggressively pursued new business since opening in 1995. It mostly has landed small but prestigious accounts such as Wolfgang Puck and Buzz magazine. It resigned the latter earlier this summer. Its biggest coup was helping the New York office land creative and planning duties for Bank of America earlier this year.
Kristin Greaves is also assuming a new role as senior vice president and director of human resources and development for both the New York and Santa Monica offices.
Fattal & Collins principal Russ Collins said he is talking to candidates to replace Sheldon and Hirshberg.
