NEW YORK DDB worldwide CEO and president Ken Kaess is taking a medical leave of absence, the Omnicom Group agency said today.

The agency said in a statement that the leave would be “brief” but did not elaborate.

Omnicom CEO John Wren said, “I have spent a fair amount of time with Ken and am pleased to say I expect him back at work shortly.”

Kaess will retain his titles, but a six-person global executive committee will handle day-to-day operational tasks, DDB said.
