LOS ANGELES The Seattle SuperSonics basketball team has named DDB Seattle its agency, the shop said.

The National Basketball Association franchise selected DDB, an Omnicom agency, after a review that included two other Seattle finalists: independent WongDoody, which was the incumbent, and Interpublic Group’s Sedgwick Rd., which handles advertising for the WNBA team, the Seattle Storm. The Seattle Sonics & Storm manages both teams.

Billings were undisclosed. The Sonics spent less than $1 million on advertising in 2002, according to TNS Media Intelligence/CMR.
