Guys: They just want food. Or is that women: They just want salads. Two similar ads that debuted in March show people eyeing the opposite sex—but they turn out to just be interested in food. A T.G.I. Friday’s ad by Deutsch/LA in Marina del Rey, Calif., shows three beautiful women walking by a guys’ table as the Scorpions’ “Rock Me Like a Hurricane” plays. The men lose interest when their meals arrive. In a Taco Bell spot by San Francisco’s Foote Cone & Belding, two women seemingly ogle guys eating Taco Bell Fiesta Taco Salads, but, yep, they’re just interested in the salads.
