Campbell-Ewald/West has hired veteran West Coast creative director Pam Cunningham.
Cunningham joined the Los Angeles shop last week, filling the newly created position of senior vice president, creative director, according to Lance Mald, the agency's executive vice president, executive creative director.
"We're really excited," said Mald of Cunningham's arrival. "She is a major talent. We've been growing in leaps and bounds [and] trying to woo Pam for over a year."
Cunningham is best-known for her automotive work over the past decade for clients such as Hyundai, Infiniti and Nissan at Los Angeles-area agencies including Rogge Effler & Partners (now Colby Effler & Partners) and the now-defunct Lord, Dentsu & Partners, and at Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, Boston.
She has been freelancing "with select agencies and clients" for the past year, and has also worked on a contract basis at Onesuch Films, Los Angeles, teaming there with longtime creative partner Dan Mountain on the inaugural ad campaign for Samsung Motors.
"I really like the mix of accounts [at Campbell-Ewald/West]," said Cunningham. "They have a lot of momentum going. It's nice to get back into an agency."
Cunningham will work on all of the shop's accounts, including DirecTV, Hughes Corp. and Coco's restaurants. She will also work on the estimated $50 million account of Silicon Valley personal TV service TiVo, which the agency picked up earlier this year.
