Boston—Clarke Goward has added Cambridge Savings Bank to its roster.
The Cambridge, Mass., bank considered a half-dozen agencies for its $1 million account before selecting Boston-based shops Clarke Goward and Pagano Schenck & Kay as finalists.
"Clarke Goward was a better fit for us," said CSB senior vice president of marketing Barbara Cox. "There was a good cultural fit; they have a great reputation and we were very impressed with their creative."
The account had been handled by crosstown agency Greenberg Seronick O'Leary & Partners for more than three years. Greenberg did not defend the account but will finish out the year with the client.
"We just felt that it was time for a fresh look at our business," said Cox, adding that the decision to part was mutual.
Clarke Goward will handle media buying and creative chores. The agency has worked with roughly seven banks in its history, said chairman Terry Clarke, including current client Woronoco Savings Bank and Boston Five Cents Savings Bank, which became part of Citizens Bank in 1994.
Greenberg had developed the tagline "The right size," and recent efforts included product-focused print and radio ads. John Coletti
