LOS ANGELES Dell is shining the spotlight on a celebrity spokesperson to help improve its image. This week rocker Sheryl Crow will headline select commercials and sing her new single, “Good Is Good,” in a TV campaign. It’s the first time Dell has used a celebrity, other than chairman Michael Dell, in its advertising.

“This is a departure for us,” said Michael Farello, vice president, electronics and accessories at Dell. “And it coincides with the back-to-school season, so we’re going for our core consumer who is interested in music and videos.”
