NEW YORK Initiative Media executive vice president, director of local broadcast Kathy Crawford has joined WPP Group’s MindShare as president of local broadcast, overseeing that network’s growing $1 billion-plus local buying efforts, the agencies said.

Separately, Steve Lanzano joins MindShare as worldwide media services director from WPP sister shop Mediaedge:cia, where he had been CEO of North American operations.

Crawford replaces Jean Pool, who left last year to join Interpublic Group’s Universal McCann. Crawford, a 30-year media veteran, ran an estimated $2 billion spot buying group at Initiative, IPG’s second media network.
